Timeless elegance in Glenunga

IF Jodie Poole and Glenn Stegink could find a way to box up their beloved Tudor-style home and move it across the country, they would.

With work commitment seeing the couple and their three children relocate to Western Australia, the family have listed their Glenunga property at 25 Trevorten Ave, which they have called home for the past three years.

A decision that, Ms Poole says, was not made lightly.

“It’s been a really good family home in a great location,” she says.

“We were actually drawn to Glenunga because of the reputation of the area, the high-quality schools and lifestyle it offered us.”

Raising three young boys, Ms Poole says the home’s spacious and versatile layout had offered plenty of room for the family to come together or have their own space when needed.

“It’s been a really easy house to live in as it’s low maintenance but at the same time gave you the space and amenities you’d want in a good family home,” she says.

“We did, however, modernise the home a little.

“Externally, the home is much the same as when we bought it but internally, we freshened it up.

“We polished up the floorboards, put in new, high-quality blinds, replaced carpets and completely repainted all the walls.

“We also put in extra cupboards for storage.”

The result speaks for itself with the renovated home now offerings a fresh look across two levels.

The ground floor is predominantly dedicated to living areas, comprising a formal sitting room with heater, a dining room, a guest bedroom with an ensuite, a laundry and an open-plan living and dining space — overlooked by a modern, white toned kitchen with stainless steel appliances.

Three sets of cafe doors open out to a surrounding timber decked terrace, providing seamless indoor to outdoor entertainment.

There is also a solar-heated inground pool and rear gardens.

Five generous sized bedrooms with built-ins, meanwhile, are located on the upper level and include a palatial master with an ensuite and a balcony.

The remaining bedrooms are serviced by a modern family bathroom with a spa bath and a separate toilet.

Other features include underfloor heating in main hallway and bathrooms, ducted reverse-cycle airconditioning and remore controlled double garage.

“One of the features I really enjoyed about the home is the large pool. You don’t see big pools that often anymore,” Ms Poole says.

“Also the big deck and outdoor entertaining space. You could just sit there and watch the kids play in the pool.

“But also having those big bi-fold doors — it creates a real indoor/outdoor feel (and) helps keep the house cool during summer.

“We’re really going to miss this home and if we could pick it up and take it with us, we would.”

The property is listed with Grant Wills of Toop&Toop and has a price guide of $1,470,000 to$1,590,000.
