SPURS LEAD MALCOM RACE
After being expected to join both Manchester United and Arsenal at separate points in January, it appears Bordeaux’s Malcom could be set for a move to Spurs.
The North Londoners are now the favourites to sign the Brazilian, according to The Telegraph, with £35m (AU$60m) thought to be the fee they will pay for his services.
Malcom’s representatives allegedly met with Spurs earlier this week to discuss the move, which is likely to see the 20-year-old winger finish the Ligue 1 season with Bordeaux before joining Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the summer.
An agreement is yet to be reached, although both parties are confident of sorting one in the near future, with the initial fee potentially rising by as much as 10m with add-ons.
The young gun is regarded as one of the brightest talents in Europe, and has burst into notoriety following United and Arsenal’s interest in him.
Although it appears both have dropped their interest amid Alexis Sanchez’s impending transfer.
CITY WANT CAN
Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has emerged as a shock target for Manchester City.
The German international looked set to sign a pre-contract with Juventus, with his contract due to run out in the summer, although it appears City have entered the frame for his signature.
According to The Mirror, Pep Guardiola is interested in swooping for the 23-year-old, despite Juve’s comments that they are doing “all they can” to sign the midfielder.
Can is reportedly ready to leave Anfield, rather than signing a contract extension.
The news comes as Bayern Munich beat the Reds to the signing of Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka.
SERI WANTED IN ENGLAND
Nice midfielder Jean Michaael Seri is reportedly interesting Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
Seri, who nearly signed for Barcelona last summer, has a release clause worth £35m (AU$60m).
United are allegedly leading the race for the Ivorian’s signature, with Jose Mourinho thought to see him as a perfect replacement for retiring midfielder Michael Carrick.
Meanwhile City are keen on the 26-year-old replacing Yaya Toure in the heart of their midfield.
MONACO REJECT SOUTHAMPTON’S CARRILLO BID
Monaco have rejected a £17.6m (AU$30m) offer from Southampton for striker Guido Carrillo, Sky Sports News reports.
The Saints are keen to sign the 26-year-old, who previously worked with boss Mauricio Pellegrino in their native Argentina.
Carrillo has made 22 appearances this season but just two of them have been starts in Ligue 1. He has scored 20 goals in over 50 appearances for Monaco since signing from Estudiantes in 2015.
Speaking on Friday, Pellegrino admitted Southampton tried everything to sign Theo Walcott and suggested Monaco forward Carrillo is on the club’s radar, but maintained he does not want to discuss players who are contracted to other clubs.
“He’s a player I know and the club know,” he said.
“But I will not talk about someone else who is not here. The player is either yours 100 per cent or nothing. One small detail can change the negotiation.
“If we bring people here it is because we feel they will improve the squad.”
PALACE KEEN ON EDER
Crystal Palace have bid for Inter Milan attacker Eder, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Eagles manager Roy Hodgson is in the market for a striker, and have also been linked with moves for Fiorentina’s Khouma Babacar and West Ham’s Diafra Sakho.
Palace have reportedly bid £9.75m (AU$16m) for the Italian international, who has scored once in 15 Serie A games for the Nerrazurri this season in the Serie A, although is yet to make a league start.
