EGYPT CHIEF BACKS REAL BID
Real Madrid are preparing a blockbuster move for Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah according to Egyptian football chief Hany Abo Rida.
Rida confirmed the bid on national television: “There is a real chance he could play for Real Madrid next year.”
“The Spaniards will make an offer for him,” he said.
The 64-year-old continued, “Salah is now looking to improve his game.”
“Obviously if an Egyptian plays for a club as popular around the world as Real Madrid, it’s going to be great for Egyptian football.
“It’s is going to be magnificent for Egyptian football.”
Rida’s sentiments were echoed by national team manager Hector Cupa.
“I’ve received news revealing Real’s interest, but let’s not rush things,” Cupa said.
Salah has been on fire since joining Liverpool from Roma in the summer, scoring 18 goals in 23 matches.
STURRIDGE WANTS SEVILLA MOVE
Reds striker Daniel Sturridge has his eye on a move to La Liga outfit Sevilla, according to The Mirror.
Sturridge has been linked to Inter Milan and Valencia recently, however the report suggests the Spanish side are now the frontrunners for his signature.
Sevilla have already had a loan offer turned down, with Liverpool preferring a permanent switch for around £25m (AU$43m) for the 29-year-old, who is keen to move in order to secure game time ahead of the World Cup.
The report adds that the striker himself is keen on the move, and hopes it will galvanise his career after ensuring a torrid run of injuries during his time at Anfield.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports suggest the English international is weighing up a move to Inter.
Jurgen Klopp handed soon to be out of contract star Emre Can the captain’s armband in his side’s loss against Swansea, as he attempts to persuade the German to stay at Anfield amid strong interest from Juventus.
The Liverpool manager has been known to use the captaincy as a bargaining chip in the past, offering it to Philippe Coutinho in the hope of keeping the now Barcelona player on Merseyside, as well as handing it to Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet at various points.
Juventus general manager Gieuseppe Marotta has stated his side are still keen to reach an agreement with the German international.
“As for Emre Can he’s an important player who currently plays for Liverpool. We know his contract is expiring but he could renew or have other opportunities,” Marotta said.
“We’ll try to bring him to us, we’ll try to take him, it’s a difficult objective but I think a big club has to have the ambition to achieve difficult objectives.”
