‘Room to park your dragon’

A REAL-LIFE castle — turrets and all — has been listed at 58 Donnison St, West Gosford for $520 per week.

But wait until you see the rental listing!

In an unconventionally playful ad listing, Raine and Horne Gosford have called for “the next Jon Snow and Daenerys” to apply for the multi-share property.

The ad then goes on to say that the home offers “room to practice your swordsmanship in the generous living room with high ceilings or hold a banquet in the dining room overlooking your Kingdom. Roast a beast in the new oven or boil your broth on the gas stove.

“The timber floors allow easy clean-up after disposing of your enemies, with lots of storage ideal for hiding away your secrets.”

Having built the property 20 years ago with the intention of renting out the downstairs, the vendors live on the upper level of the castle in a completely separate living area.

Agent Katie Tilden said that this is hands-down the most unusual property she has listed.

“It’s not every day you rent a castle,” she said.

“Half my office love it but the rest aren’t so sure.

“We have plenty of interest from the public — I’ve got four people booked in for an inspection, and we only uploaded the ad last night.”

Ms Tilden said that she was sure some people might just be stickybeaks, but the office was having fun with it.

“We weren’t sure whether we should wear capes and crowns to the open-houses,” she said.
